The Start Strong Free Preschool Funding program aims to provide high-quality early learning education in the two years before children begin school.

As an approved provider of the NSW Start Strong Free Preschool Funding program, we’re excited to share with you all the details you need to know about this invaluable resource. If you’re a parent in New South Wales with a child aged three to five years old, you may be eligible for free preschool funding through the State Government’s Start Strong Free Preschool Funding program, offering a fee relief of up to $2,110 per child.

Below is a snapshot of the Start Strong preschool fee relief for families of children aged between three and five years old.

Understanding Start Strong Free Preschool Funding

In 2024, there will be $500 per child of fee relief for eligible 3-year-old children and up to $2,110 per 4 and 5-year-old children attending one of the Heritage House early learning centres.

You can receive the Start Strong funding if your child is not enrolled in primary school and meets the eligibility criteria:

  • To be eligible for 4YO+ Program Payment and 4YO+ Fee Relief Payment funding under Start Strong, a child will need to be the age of 4 years old on, or before, 31 July 2024 (the child’s birthdate must be on, or before, 31 July 2020)
  • To be eligible for 3YO Program Trial Payment and 3YO Fee Relief Trial Payment funding under Start Strong, a child will need to be the age of 3 years old and not yet 4 years old on, or before 31 July in 2024 (the child’s birthdate must be on, or between, 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021.

How to access the preschool fee relief for 2024?

  • Families are required to complete a declaration form (available at the centre) to nominate the centre they would like to receive fee relief from. Fee relief will be passed on to you by your service as a reduction to your fees.
  • All NSW families are eligible regardless of Citizenship or residency status, including families that do not receive CCS.

At Heritage House Childcare & Early Learning Centres, we are proud to be approved providers of this program, and we are dedicated to providing enriching preschool experiences that set children on the path to success in school and in life.
